The regulated professions database
Before any other step
Select the country where your qualification was awarded and the one where you want to work, then search for your profession: the European Commission's official database says whether it is regulated in the host country, and by which authority.
The national contact point for professional qualifications
When in doubt
If your profession does not appear in the database or your case is out of the ordinary, the national contact point of the host country helps you identify the competent authority and the applicable rules. The official page on regulated professions sets out the path, the regimes and the deadlines.

The academic side: the official page on the recognition of diplomas
As soon as study plans form
For further study, the official EU page describes the statement of comparability and points to the ENIC/NARIC centre of the country where the diploma is to be assessed, with the four points to check before the assessment.

SOLVIT, if the authority misses its deadlines or blocks
Deadlines missed
An acknowledgement of receipt that never comes, a decision past its deadline, demands outside the procedure: the European Commission's SOLVIT network handles cross-border problems with public administrations, recognition of professional qualifications included.

Admission rules for study, the fees of attestation services and the organisation of the competent authorities belong to each country: this site presents only the European baseline common to the twenty-seven.
