Your prescription in another country

Your daily medicine runs out mid-stay, and the spare box stayed on the kitchen table. Good news: a prescription issued in one EU country is valid in the others. You still need to know what it must carry, and what the country's pharmacist keeps the right to do.

Item no. 1

Six tablets to spare

Three weeks at your sister's, who lives near Lisbon. As you pack, the maths is quick: the box of your daily medicine, the blood-pressure one, covers the first week, plus 6 tablets to spare.

You leave in four days. Your doctor can see you on Thursday.
